Beauty, personal prayer, and communal worship build the spiritual strength necessary for deepening global community, hanging in with the tough work of a global climate conference, and participating actively  in God’s healing of soul, community, and creation.

The Ecumenical Celebration for Creation, held on December 3 at Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris for COP21, brought together people of all ages to sing, listen to the Word, pray, and reflect together in a place of great beauty. Diverse dimensions of creation were brought to our attention with the procession of cotton, linen, minerals, pottery, olive oil, a musical instrument, a boat, and a model of Earth, each representing finite resources to be protected and cherished.
